Wiring accounts for 50% of processing time. On average, each wire takes about 7 minutes to prepare and land: 6 minutes for tasks such as measuring, cutting, stripping, crimping, and labeling, and an additional 1 minute for landing. Streamlining the wiring process would help address some of the key challenges.
WirePrint services revolutionize control panel manufacturing by delivering fully prepared, high-quality wires before assembly.

The main benefit is that your wires are prepared upfront, outside of your panel shop, through our WirePrint Services.
The wires arrive pre-measured, cut, stripped, crimped, and labeled, so all you have to do is to land, which takes less than 1 minute per wire.

By leveraging the Rittal-Eplan Value Chain, you benefit from pre-drilled panels (RAC PERFOREX Machine) and getting your wires prepared in advance (WirePrint).
Since these steps are handled externally, they are completely removed from your panel manufacturing process, streamlining production.
On average, it takes 6 minutes to prepare a wire and 1 minute to land it.
With our WirePrint Service, you eliminate the repetitive task of spending 6 minutes per wire on preparation. Your wires are ready in advance, allowing you to complete each landing in less than a minute when needed.
This enables your employees to focus on high-value tasks, boosting productivity and profitability.
Note: The process can be even faster with the EPLAN Smart Wiring module.
Can I customize the labels and their order?
Yes, you can fully configure the labels to match your specific needs. The order in which they appear can be adjusted to your preferences.
How does labeling work when importing from Eplan?
When importing from ePlan and starting the fabrication process, you can choose the type of information to display on the labels. Options include source/target and wire number, just the wire number, or any other relevant data associated with the wire.
Are there different labeling options available?
Absolutely! We offer various labeling configurations, and customers can select the method that best suits their requirements. We provide different sets, each printed in unique ways based on the selected labeling preferences.
We use LAP416 wires. These wires are fed into our Wire Terminal machine for precise cutting and processing. We charge based on the exact length you consume, so there’s no waste—prices range from $0.70 to $1.15 CAD per meter.
We offer a full preparation service, including stripping, crimping on both ends, and labeling, for just $4 CAD per wire. This process significantly reduces wiring time, saving an average of six minutes on a typical seven-minute wiring job. You're left with only the essential, high-value task of landing the wires, which takes under a minute per minute.
If you produce 250,000 wires per year, it would definitely be worth considering this investment. We can help you with the process.
If you produce more than 100,000 wires per year and have the cash flow to make the investment, it could be worth considering. Using our services for a year as a trial might also be an option.
If you produce fewer than 100,000 wires, it is definitely worth using our wire prefabrication services.
If you are curious about how the Wire Terminal works, we invite you to visit our facility. Located just a short distance from the South Shore of Montreal, it’s easy to reach. Simply get in touch with your Rittal and Eplan colleagues, and we'll gladly organize a tour to show you around.
Automation is essential for the future. Finding qualified workers and meeting increasing demands for speed and efficiency are ongoing challenges. Automation eliminates repetitive tasks like crimping, stripping, and labeling wires, which add no value when done manually. Instead, machines handle these tasks with precision and consistency, allowing human workers to focus on critical roles such as landing wires correctly, quality control, and managing the overall process.
Automation also enables pre-assembly before all panel components are available, streamlining production. The key is to leverage machines for efficiency while humans focus on problem-solving and decision-making.
